The whole family really enjoyed the meal here. Everything tasted good and fresh.

Food is presented well and always delicious! Staff is friendly and efficient. Kamei is a staple restaurant on California Ave in West Seattle.

Great food, nice menu, friendly family

Really love this family owned place. The owner was so thoughtful when we brought our toddlers and supplied us with extra bowls and plates without us even asking. The bento is good size for lunch and I was full! Some sushi places, you leave hungry but not here! Super nice folks, really good food, and fair pricing. The salad, I LOVE the dressing. The miso soup is not too salty. The salmon, I really enjoyed. The major plus is the kind and nice service. I totally appreciate the owner being so thoughtful toward moms with kids.

Found this amazing place a few months ago and we have been going here once a week for a while now. :) Service is great and food is superb. Definitely the best Sushi restaurant in all of Seattle.

Quaint and delicious restaurant. The prices are great!

I was a little skeptical about this place. I was told this place has great sushi and cooked meals. Perfect for my family. Small spot but delicious menu. I will be returning. Service was great and I had an amazing experience. Not too pricey for what you get.

It's one of my favorite places to go. The staff make you feel like you're visiting old friends, and it's hard to pick a bad item from the menu. I highly recommend snagging an item from the special board, or if you wanna go easy on your wallet, but push your appetite to it's limit, try a dunburi bowl. I've yet to finish one without help lol.

Nice and helpful staff but the food is of poor quality. Edamame seemed old, microwaved, and mushy and nigiri sushi and roll were stale and flavorless. Not recommended.

Good food and fast service. Sushi came out super fast and the rolls were tasty! I would recommend this restaurant for sushi or other Japanese food. They have quite a variety.

Family owned and operated. The food (both hot and sushi) is very good. The service is always served with a smile and genuine concern over the patrons well being. Strongly recommend this spot.

Their sushi rice is so good! I like their sushi menu and that it is really affordable - i’m never hungry anymore when I leave. Definitively my favorite Sushi place in West Seattle!

I have read really good reviews from others. My experience was a bit different though. I went there for lunch. It was not crowded but the server did not come to our table for a long time to take the order nor brought water. I almost left the restaurant. I ordered lunch combo and agedashi tofu. I usually order Agedashi tofu to gage the quality of the food. Their sauce was too sweet for me, also did not have grated daikon nor ginger. Lunch was ok. The price was more reasonable than other Japanese restaurant. Street parking only.

Absolutely wonderful service! Family run(love that). They even remember you if you go in frequently. They’re pretty quick about getting you seated, your food ordered and brought out too you. Definitely my favorite place to go in West Seattle for sushi! I have nothing but positive experiences. The Quality is good and pricing is decent. The rice pairs really well with their fish! Definitely always recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you so much!

I ordered the regular sashimi dinner an WOW! Huge portions and a great deal. The fish was beautiful and fresh. I can see why it was so crowded in there. I got in just after 6pm, and then it really started getting busy. Everything was much better than I was expecting. I'll be back here often!

Wonderful place to eat Japanese fare. The service is great and staff are attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and humble.

The friendly family atmosphere is so great and there food and service is the best in West Seattle that we have had. And we have lived here for over 20 years. There sushi dishes are works of art.

Kamei is amazing. The taste of the best sushi in Seattle but for a price that anyone can afford. A must eat if you are near West Seattle. So great and the family that runs it is amazing. Support them to they never have to leave!

Always good food and fabulous, friendly staff. The nabeyaki udon is one of my favorites along with their sushi!

After moving back to West Seattle, I was a little disappointed in the sushi selection. Then I found Kamei! Delicious rolls and sushi! Definitely check out the specials board as the rolls on the menu are pretty basic. Good quality though and very friendly service. We will definitely be coming back!

Great food and reasonable prices.

We went for lunch today and for two bento boxes. Around $12-14, depending on your choices. Every single item was delicious, service was friendly and quick. We'll be back.

This place is sooo good! I think it’s now one of my favorite places. It’s small and casual, the bar is nice and big and I’m definitely sitting there next time. The fish was perfect the rice was fresh and not plastic tasting. Everything came on one huge plate so you really see the value you are getting. Get the egg rolls they are small but big on taste.

Excellent family sushi spot. If you LOVE sushi rolls this is your digs. We go quite frequently, and we always get something new. Very fresh food. Great flavors.

I was pleasantly surprised at this little mom and pop sushi place. It doesn't look like much from the outside, like your typical hole in the wall sushi bar. Once inside is a whole oother experience. Literally owned by a family of very kind and great customer service providing people! Great sushi, super fresh, excellent service.

Sushi here is wonderful, as are the bento boxes. They seem slightly understaffed but their current staff are all delightful. A+

It was good! I'm a 4th generation Japanese American, I've been to Japan multiple times and ate the best of the best domestically and abroad. This place is pretty decent. I'm not going to tell you that it's "authentic Japanese", but it's great comfort food. It's a great little family owned joint. You're not going to have to wait hours on end to get a seat. Tonight was a little busy, and that's understandable. I'll be going back.

Got to check this place out for lunch the other week. We were the only people in there, so that didn't seem like a very good sign. I ordered a couple rolls and my friend ordered a bento box. HUGE portions. I only ate half of each roll and my friend didn't even eat half of his box. My rolls were OK. They tasted fresh but seemed a little heavy. I also ordered the gyoza and they weren't bad. I'd be willing to go back and try more items here.

I always write my reviews the day after especially when eating sushi and I must say it was delicious Chef choice sushi and sashimi combo for 1.I will definitely be back!

Absolutely love this little family owned restaurant. The staff are so wonderful and the atmosphere is welcoming. Delicious, satisfying, tasteful sushi!! Will be coming back here over and over again. Small seating areas but worth the wait!!🤩

I loved this restaurant! I hope they survive the lockdown. I went for sushi night with my daughter regularly and this is a great family run place.

Service was better than the food. Both were good, but not great. Small things added up to drop stars. Dirty dishes (literally all of them) and a dirty woman's restroom. Fish was good, kind of thin slices relative to my experience in a great sushi place. Fish was mostly fresh, some pieces weren't cut correct (skin slivers on a few pieces). Overall, good experience but not worth repeating.
